The King George County Historical Society believes that our local heritage should be a source of
great pride. It is this proud past that the historical society preserves. |

Exhibits include, but are not restricted to Prehistoric, Revolutionary, Civil
War, and Twentieth Century artifacts. Artifacts depicting any aspect of King
George County history, regardless of age or form, either are accepted as donations or
may be lent to the museum for a specified period of time.

Special hands-on programs for children and school classes put participants "in touch"
with their heritage.

The Research Center is open to the public during the museum hours.
The research collection includes a library of books on local area histories and published
genealogical information. Files on family histories, places and events are also available
for the researcher.

A copy machine is available at a nominal cost.

Material can be scanned and copied to a CD-ROM disk, also at a nominal cost.

Museum volunteers are available on a limited basis to assist with research.

Requests received by ordinary mail must include an SASE or some provision for
postage.

A computer database of King George County families is also
available for researchers. This data has been provided by individuals who have shared
their research with us. New information on family histories is always welcome.
